Lashes or eye lashes are hairs which are growing and located on the lines of the eyes. This line-like part of the eye is called the eyelid. In the eyelids is where these hairs are produced and grows. In that line or edge of the eye are glands or what you call follicles. Its color will look the same with your hair. The person who has a dark-colored-hair will have the same color on his or her lashes. Same with those who have light-colored hair, such as those with blonde-hair, will have the similar lash-color.
Lashes as an accessory of our eyes have important functions. One of which is it serves or acts as a protection of the eyes from dust, small insects and even objects which is unexpectedly coming towards your eyes. It is like a radar which senses whenever there is a sudden dust or insects that might going to enter the eye. Once it senses a hazard, with the help of the eyelids, the eyes will automatically shut or close. Aside from which mentioned, eyelashes acts or functions as an accessory which adds beauty to people, such as to women. Ladies having long eyelashes shows great femininity. Longer and beautiful eyelashes can attract men. It looks seductive when women has well-formed lashes, especially when it has a nice curves or bends. There are eyelashes which are well-curved and some are just straight lashes. The more curved and longer it is, the more it is better and more functional.
But, how do these eyelashes formed or grow? How and when does lash growth takes place? Well, since or during pregnancy, lash growth have already started. Once an embryo was developed inside the mother’s womb, the eyelashes began to grow. Approximately, on its 22nd or 26th week, eyelashes are already present in the eyes of the baby. From birth until old eyelashes continues to grow. However, due to age, sometimes, eyelashes’ color changes its color. From its normal color, it turns to grey due to some factors. One of the factors is the lack of nutrition and stress. Have you noticed that sometimes, an eyelash falls from its follicle without even pulling it? It usually happens because it needs to be replaced by a new one. When an eyelash fell or was removed from the eyelids, there will be a new lash that will grow back for about seven to eight weeks.
There are some people who are having a delay in lash growth. For instance, their eyelashes grow slowly and not having a better one. Fortunately, there are answers to that. If lash growth is in a delayed state, one of its cause is when you are not maintaining a good diet. Proper nutrition is important in a person’s lifestyle as well as in lash growth. Hair grows when the body has a sufficient source of nutrients such as keratin. Stress, is another factor. If you are a stress-free person, you can easily grow your hair specifically your eyelashes. So, have a good diet and relieve your stress for your eyelashes to grow.
